To respond to the needs of an increasingly health conscious public, with a commitment to improving the quality of people's lives through health education and awareness.
The overall goal of MenZorg is to promote health education and awareness. The information presented by MenZorg will yield insight into the body's natural role in the fight against sickness and disease and lead to natural approaches by discussing and explaining the principles of health maintenance.
The specific goals of MenZorg derive from the conviction that education and awareness are the first line of defense against sickness and disease. We believe that the correct way to maintain health and wellness as well as manage degenerative disease is to focus on enhancing the body's natural defenses. This can only be achieved through an increased basic knowledge in relevant areas of health and an increased public awareness of the role of positive health habits and lifestyle.
The Four Cornerstones Of Good Health
Health is defined as "a state of complete spiritual, physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." This definition includes a positive range of health, well beyond the absence of sickness.
The issue of health and disease often comes down to individual responsibility. In this context, responsibility means choosing a healthy alternative over a less healthy one. If you want to be healthy, simply make healthy choices.
Many of our health practices and lifestyle factors are based on habit and marketing hype. The health practices and lifestyles of our parents usually become intricately woven into the fabric of our own lifestyles. Meanwhile, a great deal of time, energy, and money is spent to market bad health practices. The mass media constantly bombard us with messages affecting health, diet, and lifestyle.
The first step in achieving and maintaining health is taking personal responsibility. The second step is taking the appropriate action to achieve the results you desire.
If you have a strong foundation, achieving and maintaining health is usually quite easy when you focus on strengthening the "four cornerstones of good health." You can liken these cornerstones to the four legs on a chair or table. If you want that chair or table to remain upright when stress is placed upon it, the four legs must be intact and strong. Likewise, if you want to have good, or better yet, ideal health it is essential that the following four areas be strong:
